Local changes to shapes, the queue, enemy Health, and material frequency.
What is an encounter modifier?
These modifiers add rules to one encounter, separately from your adventure modifiers. Normal battles have no random encounter modifiers, elites have one, and boss modifier count follows the layer number. Enemy-specific passive traits are separate.

Defenses and action restrictions
Enemy regeneration advances with placement turns. High-damage reduction only affects the portion above its threshold. Single-line reduction applies only to attacks that clear exactly one line; it does not make all direct damage count as single-line damage. See Damage calculation.
Periodic restrictions and their remaining durations also use turns. Reducing preview slots, restricting PICK, and disabling rotation affect different actions. See Restrictions.
Random modifiers are drawn by choosing an available group uniformly, then a member uniformly within that group. An encounter cannot repeat a group. Groups have equal chances; individual modifiers across different groups do not necessarily have equal chances.
