Redstone, pistons, and slime
Signals, observers, pushing, pulling, and mechanism damage.
Signals and direction
Redstone Blocks supply signals to nearby mechanisms. Observers watch for changes in their facing direction and produce pulses. Orientation determines what they watch and where they act. A cooldown prevents every tiny simultaneous change from becoming another trigger.
Lamps light up when powered; Pistons try to extend in their facing direction. Find the power source, then check orientation and available space.
Pushing and retracting
Ordinary Pistons push the chain in front of them, subject to boundaries, immovable blocks, and free space. Sticky Pistons also try to pull a block back when retracting. Slime Blocks can connect blocks on the sides so that they move with the chain.
Immovable materials obstruct pushing. Moving solids and liquids changes the board and may create a new clear.
Mechanism damage
Successful Lamp and Piston triggers deal 5 base direct damage per counted block. Each mechanism block can contribute damage at most 10 times.
Mechanisms can therefore provide repeated damage, but a single mechanism is not an unlimited damage source. Clears caused by movement are resolved separately and can continue COMBO.
Building combinations
Use Redstone for power, Pistons to reshape gaps, and Observers to react to changes. Start with one source and one Piston, confirm the direction works, then add Slime or another mechanism. See Materials and Damage.
